THE COLORFUL BACKYARD RETREAT

The Colorful Backyard Retreat was completed quite a few years ago in collaboration with my clients and Earthtones Hardscape, LLC.  They wanted to enjoy spending time outside with family and friends in a more intimate, private setting with colorful seasonal plantings. They also wanted to maintain play space for their young, growing family and adorable dog within their narrow backyard. Earthtones Hardscape, LLC designed and built an extended, multi-level patio with a built-in bench and fire pit.  I really enjoyed working with my clients' color palette by adding a mixture of tough, low care perennials, grasses and shrubs. Plants included; Catmint 'Walker's Low', Coreopsis 'Zagreb', Sedum 'Angelina', 'Shenandoah' Switchgrass, 'Knock-Out Roses, Hydrangea 'Little Lime'. A second phase was installed the following year to extend their privacy along their property line including Columnar White Pines, 'Northwind' Switchgrass and Goldenrod.
