OIE Residence
A master landscape plan was created for this lovely custom home. An informal yet elegant vibe was achieved with pink and white roses, lavender and clematis with various slow growing evergreens playing a supportive, yet vital role. Dogwood and Cherry trees add spring flowers and fall color. ‘Hetz Columnar’ Junipers and ‘Limelight’ Hydrangea trees help define the linear path and provide privacy and interest for entertaining and soaking in the spa.
Lower Paxton Residence
This great family friendly home just required a fresh face. After so many years and old landscape practices, it was time for a facelift. Removal of all existing plants and cement walkway gave way to a low maintenance, casual planting of various grasses, multi-seasonal interest shrubs and perennials and slow growing evergreens. A softly curved flagstone walkway and rework of the stone walls create a welcoming entry. Earth Tones Hardscape, LLC installation.
Camp Hill Residence
A backyard retreat was created for this lovely home complete with gazebo, basalt fountain and new patio and sitting wall. A tranquil setting for relaxation and entertaining was created by incorporating evergreens for privacy, using some of the client’s original plants as well as new perennials and shrubs for color, interest and casual flower arrangements. Blouch’s Landscaping, Inc. installation.
Carlisle Residence
A modest facade, a request for stone mulch and very little maintenance lead to design choices such as crape myrtle, low growing grasses, sedum and slow growing evergreens. A weeping Japanese Maple adds color and textural interest throughout the year. Blouch’s Landscaping, Inc. installation.
Patio Entry
This patio entry is a focal point while relaxing and entertaining. Hydrangeas ‘City Line Venice’ and Variegated Japanese Forest Grass (Hakone ‘Aureola’) grass are fabulous friends along with Snakeroot and the vertical accent of the Yew. This garden is more about foliage color and texture than flower color, soothing and exciting all at the same time. This vignette was inspired by a trip to Italy years ago.
Pergola Garden
A large pot placed within a garden bed makes a great focal point while swinging in the pergola on a lazy afternoon. ‘Winter Flame’ Dogwood and ‘Sweet Caroline’ Sweet Potato Vine create a wonderful late summer/early autumn display and once autumn fades and winter begins the gorgeous hot colored stems of the dogwood take center stage.
Various examples of my container work for clients as well as myself; the possibilities are endless!
2014 PA Garden Expo
A great opportunity to work with fellow colleague, Earth Tones Hardscape, LLC to create a 2,000 square foot display. A bit of spring indoors during one of our coldest, snowiest winters yet! Includes a traditional pergola (Country Lane Gazebos), patios, retaining walls, fireplace and twin Basalt Column fountains (Techo Bloc, Unilock, Aquascape products from Watson Supply). Accessories included outdoor furniture (courtesy of Stauffers of Kissel Hill, Mechanicsburg), white paper lanterns with battery operated remote controlled lighting from Pier One and some of my own creations.
